Adsense: When You Get Visitors To Your Site?
Posted on January 22nd, 2008 by Ask Salomon under Adsense Tips and HacksI have decided to write about Adsense.
For those of you who don’t know what adsense is or how it works, here you go…
Adsense is run by Google, and is the ad serving program by the same. Whoever owns a website is eligible to enroll in this program. Through this, they can allow advertisements on their sites. It could be of images, text or even videos. They will be administered by Google, and there will be revenue generated through specific methods.
It is extremely easy to sign up for an account. All you need to do is access the site and find the online application. You will then be taken into consideration, after which your application will be accepted within a few days. You can instantly set up and access your account as soon as you have been approved. You will have a code by Adsense, which you will have to place on your web page.
The ads will be relevant to your content on your web page. Thus when you get visitors to your site and they click on the ads, you will get paid by Adsense. At the end of every month, you will get paid for every click that has occurred on your site. The ad that is used should be part of your site, and also in a format, which would invite clicks.
There should be standard links used for the headings as well as the link. There will also be specific locations where one should place the ads on the web page. Settings can be changed for the web page by logging into the Adsense account. One will not be able to decide what ads will appear on the web page, as it will be decided by the Google Adsense computers.
The success of any online advertising campaign is called CTR or click through rate. It will be measured according to the users who click on the ads, and also the number of times the ad is delivered. There are methods to get good results with the click through rates. The right advertising site has to be chosen and the ad can get better results through this.
Another important factor is the ECPM, which is called the effective cost per thousand impressions. The total earnings divided by the ad impressions will give you the ECPM. This is one of the best ways to measure your results with the performance. This can be used for large as well as small sites irrespective of the ad size.
Existing ad units can be used if you are completely satisfied with them. By using these, you need not look towards changing settings or colors over and over again. There will be an import code option offered in the Adsense account, which can be used to upgrade the ad code. The process to do this is very easy and can be managed well.
Adsense is not only a fast way but an easy way for website owners to display ads and make money out of it. This method will also check your content and will deliver ads, which will be relevant to the target audience.
