Webmaster News

There are many benefits when participating in webmaster forums. Webmaster forums offer first hand news and resources on what is happening on the Internet. Everyone is involved with the Internet some way or the other, whether it’s for work or for pleasure. So it’s certainly in your best interest to keep abreast of the latest webmaster news. Here are some examples of webmasters news that may affect you directly or indirectly.

Search engines related news.

This is one of the most closely watched topics. Webmasters watch what is happening to the search engines because on the Internet, it’s all about traffic. Nothing ever happens without traffic. You can’t get leads, registrations, and you certainly can’t get sales. And for many websites, the majority of the traffic comes from search engines. Therefore, if there is any search engine related news, webmasters will cling to its every word. It’s that important.

This traffic generation method is also commonly known as search engine optimization (SEO). SEO is a combination of internal page and external page factors that helps a website to rank well in the search engines. You can pick up some really great SEO tips just by scanning webmaster news in forums.

It is not uncommon to see webmasters visiting forums just to complain about a drop in search engine rankings. When that happens, every webmaster wants to know what went wrong. In fact, some even offer to pay others money, just so their website can regain its rankings. But the Internet is not all about the search engines. There is more.

Internet marketing news.

Many webmasters depend on Internet marketing news for the latest money making opportunities. This may be in the form of untapped traffic source, or a new way of generating traffic online. Whatever the method, the webmaster community is usually the first to hear about it.

Of course, they are also the ones to profit from these opportunities. In fact, many have made fortunes from various traffic generation methods such as buying clicks or article marketing. The best part is, webmasters learn how to conduct their online businesses for free on these forums.

Another reason why you should be concerned about internet marketing news is that you want to avoid being scammed. Some people think that they can cheat people of their hard earned money and get away with it when they trade on the internet. But usually, the law catches up with these crooks. It’s just a matter of time.

However, if you are updated on the latest internet marketing news, you will be able to avoid such unpleasant experiences altogether. Who wants to go through the hassle of being cheated of one’s hard earned money, and then having to go after some crook that may be halfway across the globe? For sure, we all have better things to do.

These are just a couple of examples on how webmaster news can benefit you. If you have benefited from the information provided by a webmaster forum, be sure to share some of your own knowledge as well. Communities thrive when everyone shares.

So join a webmaster forum, and participate actively. For all you know, you may end up profiting handsomely from an internet marketing opportunity.

Internet safety and rebirth of cybercrime

Posted by wilgmn532 in Life on Internet

Human brain developed for hundreds of thousands of centuries sustaining the concept of risk that assistance ed us to stay alive running from predators and hiding from security threats. On one side, this million-year experience makes our consciousness of risk a pretty flawless one, since it help ed us to survive during hundreds of thousands of centuries of rebirth, but on the other hand, the word risk sounds a little bit exaggerated especially when quoted by Web computer security specialist s of today.

As Marcus Ranum, Chief Security Officer of Tenable Web work Security and author of The Myth of Homeland Security, explains, cybercrime gives you a criminal with a means of automation and anonymity, needs very little in word s of information technology knowledge or equipment, and can cross worldwide borderlines very fast, making it more effortless to hide and more burdensome to be prosecuted.

It seems that offenders developed in a very similar way our perception of risk did, from regular robbers with arms running around and killing people, to somehow less violent, yet very dangerous individuals whose targets are now online banking accounts and laptops of millions of users international.

The latest news from England’s major retail bankers says, that if your online banking account has been wiped out and you didn’t use any Cyberspace safety software equipped with antivirus and antispyware eg Norton 360, you entirely are to be blamed for the amount that is lost and they won’t compensate you a penny. Banks even embedded a clause in the recently updated Banking Code, that says they are not liable for any losing of money if your PC doesn’t have antispyware software with the updated self-replicating malware definition installed. Sounds marvelous, doesn’t it?

They don’t risk their lives to get money, they don’t shoot at anyone any more, they don’t even do any physical harm to their victims. Today’s crime exercised online, the Internet crime, uses safeness holes and threats to PC safety in software and equipment to sneak money from peoples’ pockets sitting right in the front of their computer machines. No need to shoot, nor to threat anybody. Just a few smart code snippets smuggled into the victim’s PC via email or a booby-trapped website and you are done. Simple as that.

According to recent Cyberspace computer safety and online identity fraud research, the British Police are being informed about a new cybercrime event every 10 seconds. This accounted for over GBP 300 millions amount that is lost for private and business bank customers in the Great Britain in 2007. However, many online computer safety professional s claim that vast majority of cybercrime s are never reported because they haven’t been detected or were of a lesser severity.

Having that said, you, the Cyberspace user, are solely liable for your doings online. And whether you get your online banking password snatched and money robbed by hackers, chances are no one except you will pay for this. So, whether your computer isn’t properly protected you may be running a risk of getting hacked and your identity becomes an easy target for those knowing how to steal it. To make sure this won’t happen, get yourself a copy of a free antispyware software that are available to transfer from various vendors today. Enjoy your online!

The time of turning a blog into a virtual creation

Posted by Ask Salomon in Life on Internet

You may have noticed that more and more people are becoming fan of the newest tendency on the internet: the blog, blogging. I have read through many of them, sometimes just out of curiosity trying to meet the persons behind and wanting to know more about their motives for writing and publishing online their various experiences, believes, advice, warning, etc.
Hey I am not talking about the bloggers who are just in for the money, those are a separate story.
Today I realized why this is becoming so trendy: it could be nothing less than the inborn need for creation all men have within themselves.
If you think in terms of ancient times you will find this repeating over and over again. Men just want to leave his mark behind.

The funny thing is that I wrote this post just after reading through a blog which catchphrase is: ‘Another Day Wasted’.  These three words cut my imagination loose and got me to read through it. The guy behind this blog seems to have a good time writing about his particular live with personal details included. Honestly, without even noticing, I spent more than ½ hr reading through it…  (I liked it though ;-) ).
Just snooping into somebody else’s life, really makes you feel like an intruder without a reason.

Coming across so many different types of blogs with such a diversified content amazed me to the point of making me want to find out where does the push behind it comes from.

I can make sense out of this by believing that people just want to create, to make something and today’s latest way of creating is this: The Virtual Creation, writing on the web and leaving something behind. The question is for how long? And will anyone ever notice? Ah, that is where the search engines help you get noticed.

This will not get more mystical than this. Don’t you agree?

Adios  ;-)

Are you wasting your time on the net?

Posted by Ask Salomon in Life on Internet

- Are you sitting all day long behind your computer searching for tricks,  placing adds,  creating new blogs and new sites, running forums with the sole idea of getting the $$ flowing in from the advertizing?

Did you ever have the feeling that all the work you do on line does not really bring you the cash you hoped to get?
Did you ever ask yourself if perhaps you were not doing it right? Or worse, if perhaps you were wasting your time?

- Yes, it can happen, especially when you forget what I call the basic evaluation that brings you back on track.
- Here are some suggestions as to how to evaluate and what to evaluate:

Evaluating the ‘symptoms’:
- You spend more than 8 hrs per day behind your monitor (this is a regular job schedule) and maybe you already have a regular job, ups!, multiple jobs.
What started up as a hobby has become a second job?

I know lots of people that next to a regular job they spend all their free time writing for the world to read, either in forums or blogging.

If you happen to be away from your monitor and don’t carry a laptop your mind can’t stop wondering where you can get online next to check the stats.

If you have any of these ‘symptoms’ you probably need to disconnect and have some real fresh air. Need to get out, have some fun, I mean real physical fun.
Here a simple question: When was the last time you went out shopping? Picture this:  a day flashed by and you did not even get up from your chair; you eat while you read or wrote, you talked on the phone while you browsed… dude, these are real bad habits, no good.
Have you visited a real shop lately? Ah, of course, who wants to go physically shopping when all can be bought online? Yes, so very convenient, but extremely unhealthy so watch out!  Don’t want to scare you but, hey, you know what they say: ‘mens sana in corpore sano’

Evaluating  Personal and Motivational benefits:
- If the day went by so fast it probably means that you were having a good time, so that is a positive point to consider.
- Did you feel invigorated or tired at the end of the day?
- Did you get new ideas for developing your business through all the hours spend browsing around? This may be considered of immense value, sometimes even more that cash flow.

Evaluating measurable Results:
- How many hours did you invest in your business?
- Did you have to spend a lot of money to make it work?
- How much time you did you spend doing research?
- And here comes the final question: How much $$ did this bring you?
Time to reach your own conclusion:
This should be quite simple: Do the math and then decide.

- If cash is more important to you than fun and learning new things, than you should give more points to your measurable results than to your personal and motivational benefits.
- In any case, my honest opinion is that, In spite of all, if you did have fun, no matter how much or how less $$ income you got, I guess this is the thing for you, so please don’t quit.

I created this blog to help all of you ”addicted to the net” like me and to continue doing what I like most: write, work from your home and enjoy the free life.

 Adios  ;-)
